Wow, this is my third post in three days. I am on a roll! I have taken some pics of the progress of our mini makeover of our very tired old home, a 1920's Queenslander that was renovated in the mid 90s. It was painted cream & a teal type colour - very 90s.

I couldn’t talk the kids into painting their bedroom white again. Their last two bedrooms painted whisper white and white on white. The kids this time insisted on colour & lots of it!!!!! They wanted green (eeek), yellow (maybe the Block Sophie & Dale's kids room was fantastic), dark blue (eeek), and pink… At last after a few trials of dark blue, they decided no way to that colour.

Porters Beach Club Blue & Porters Pink Ginger was their ultimate choices. Pink Ginger would of looked great, sadly when we were ready to buy the pink paint Porters store was closed 5mins before the advertised time of 2pm Saturday closing!!! I knew I should of got there earlier. So into Bunnings we went & after agonising over a zillion colours, Grace finally settled on Dulux My Wish.

I am betting on a colour change in a few years, but for now everybody is happy :)

One of the things the kids loved doing with their dad is checking on the crab pots.

Happy father's day.

Hello! It has been a little while since my last post. Busy, busy, busy (& lazy) to get back into the swing of things. Looking forward to Spring...our house has been freezing!  Missing the warmth of NQ. The blog has had a spring clean...love a good old spring clean.

stripe floor boards

Thank you to my inspirational follow bloggers for giving feedback on my stripe floorboards.

I have checked out Anna’s links (thank you Anna from www.mydesignethos.blogspot.com) and I also found a few more pics.

The common theme is keeping the colours simple, white walls & neutral toned furniture.

Hope you are having a happy Friday!

Notice the checks used in the above two rooms to help balance out the candy stripe. The light colour boards look great, however, not sure about going down the path of pattern fabric.

change of place

When I called my blog ''change of place'' I didn't think I would literally be changing place! But we have moved again this time back to our original house in brisvegas. We moved in on the wettest day so far this summer. Thank you to the removalists who worked in some very difficult conditions.

The house has not changed in the last 15 or 20 years since the previous owners did a renovation & is the same as when we left nearly 10 years ago.

I am doing up the list of the to dos. One of the first things to do is the backyard. I want to keep the old garage & stable, NR would like to demolish. I keep thinking once it is gone that is it no more. What would you do?

The house has some very interesting design features like stripy floorboards. Not sure what to do here :S. We are not going to change the floor, maybe just add some enormous rugs. Have you seen this before, any suggestions?

The kitchen should I paint?

Now the move is over I am going to catch up on all my favorite blogs and posts which I have missed.

Hope you are having a great day!

dinner

Before our move we are eating our way through our frozen fish stock & one of easy fish dishes is Jamie Oliver's fish pies. This is one of his fantastic fish pies recipes. Yum.

PS: We are totally exhausted with packing, unpacking, & finishing the 101 jobs around the house before we move. This weekend we unpacked a shipping container of stored ''stuff'' we had in storage for 2years!!! We haven't missed a thing in the container. Big garage sale when we get to Brisvegas.

Any garage sale tips?
