Josh & Jenna

We ended up doing no new work in the garden :( and I missed the block which I forgot about, too busy reading The Cat In the Hat for the zillionth time!!!

To catch up on the block I just had a quick look at the web site and absolutely loved Josh & Jenna's bedroom & bathroom. Very cool!

Ssshhh! Etty Bay

Etty bay yesterday

Where the rain forest meets the beach we find a cassowary just waiting around
Etty Bay must be one of North Queensland's best kept secrets....well I hadn't heard of Etty Bay until we dropped in on our way back from spending a weekend in Cairns.

a little piece of Etty Bay for Sale
And the agent [Mission Beach Real Estate P/L - Mission Beach] said...

''What a great Spot - Situated in the small beach side town of Etty Bay just South of Innisfail is this elevated 2205m2 block of land. The block has fabulous ocean views and is easy to build on. Enjoy the best of both worlds by being close to a large town while also enjoying the tranquility of this lovely location''
Maybe one of Sarah's homes built here would be great...just no cyclones please!!

Laundry complete

Before it was a laundry it was a 'sun room'

One of the first rooms nearly complete in the reno is the laundry. I am still waiting for the tiler to finish off a spash back on the other counter - he may be able to do it this week or the next - whenever is fine : )

Swimming in July?

School holiday fun - is it warm enough for a swim?

Maybe not!!

Winter in the tropics

Before the next wet season we need to work out what we are doing with our front garden path which is a solid cement path - extremely practical in the wet season. However, the path has lots of cracks and needs replacing. For a simple look, I am leaning towards using large pavers soften with turf. We also need to tidy up the area in front of the veranda. Any suggestions?

a bit of boarder inspiration from martha
We are also not sure what we will do with the tiles on the veranda - we haven't thought too much about changing the tiles - in the too hard basket.
